Kong Oscars gate is one of Bergen's oldest streets and reflects almost a thousand years of history. The refill of Vågen, city fires, and regulations are all events that have shaped the street. Emphasis is placed on taking care of the historical records of the street. Riksantikvaren (the Directorate for Cultural Heritage in Norway) indicate how deep we can dig, and Byantikvaren (the Cultural Heritage Management Office of Bergen) provide guidelines for the visible cultural landmark, says the project manager. The street is narrow, there is little space between the houses, and there needs to be room for bikes, pedestrians and cars.
We'll be doing the job for Hylland AS.
