A Nationwide Expertise Environment with Consulting Engineers in Land and Industrial Measurement

ANKO AS was founded in 1975 by personnel from the former Bloms Oppmåling in Stavanger. At that time, the name was an abbreviation for Anlegg- og Kommunal-service (Construction and Municipal Service).

In 2005, the company established its own department for inspector services within NDT and welding inspection, which was sold in 2010/11.

In the fall of 2008, ANKO AS (Stavanger) and ARC Oppmåling AS (Bergen) merged, becoming the largest independent consulting company in Western Norway within land and industrial measurement.

In January 2014, we decided that Anko AS should be a leading company in all relevant service areas within land and industrial measurement, and that Anko AS should be present in several locations in Norway.

In March 2015, we opened a branch office in Harstad and in 2018, a new branch office in Trondheim. The branches offer all of Anko's services.

In the spring of 2016, Anko Bluepix was established as a result of Anko's ambition to become a major supplier for maritime services and subsea metrology. This initiative was strengthened by Anko's acquisition of Parker Maritime in 2018. In December 2018, Anko Bluepix was merged into Anko AS.

In August 2018, Anko AS acquired the company Parker Maritime AS (formerly Scan Maritime/Blom Maritime/Bloms Oppmåling), established in Stavanger in 1972 to serve the offshore industry with maritime and industry-related surveying services. The company changed its name to Anko Maritime AS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anko AS. Anko Maritime AS is a specialized consulting firm delivering a wide range of surveying services including underwater metrology, dimensional control onshore and offshore, vessel checks, and GNSS health checks, as well as wind installation measurements. Additionally, Anko Maritime AS offers a Position Management System (PMS) package for loading operations with FPSOs and shuttle tankers. The package has been further developed into "PMS-Wind," a software solution for wind turbine installation. The company's main customers are oil companies, the offshore industry, and shipyards, as well as operators of survey vessels and shuttle tankers. With this acquisition, Anko became one of the dominant providers of maritime and industry-related surveying services.

Anko AS experiences strong demand for specialized expertise and services in machine control generally and Leica machine control systems specifically. Therefore, in April 2019, Anko AS entered into a strategic and industrial partnership with Anlegg & Maskinsupport AS. As part of this, Anko AS acquired 51% of the shares in the company, and Anlegg & Maskinsupport AS became part of the Anko group from April 2019. Anlegg & Maskinsupport AS provides service and sales of machine control primarily to the construction industry. The company performs checks on machines, simple service and repairs on the equipment. Anlegg & Maskinsupport AS delivers and implements projects throughout Norway, with strong support from Anko's branch offices.

In 2019, we opened a new Anko office in Oslo to provide surveying services. The branch office is co-located with Anlegg & Maskinsupport AS.

From 2019, Anko significantly expanded its service offerings, including in scanning and 3D modeling. This effort resulted in Anko AS signing a four-year agreement with Statsbygg in 2020 to scan their property portfolio, totaling 2.9 million square meters.

Anko AS sees significant development opportunities in Southern Norway, starting in Kristiansand. Therefore, Anko AS entered into a partnership with Hoem & Aamodt Surveying AS in Kristiansand in April 2020, acquiring 51% of the shares in the company. Hoem & Aamodt Surveying AS became part of the Anko group from May 1, 2020. Hoem & Aamodt Surveying AS adds expertise and significant project experience in boundary determination and work under the cadastral act, services now offered at all Anko's branches. The company was merged into Anko AS in August 2023, now Anko Department Kristiansand.

In July 2020, Anko AS acquired all shares in Geomatics Survey AS. The Geomatics group wanted a new professional harbor for the company focused on development and delivery of surveying services for the benefit of customers and employees. For Anko, there was a strong industrial motivation for the purchase, and there are strong synergies in joining forces. Anko strengthened the departments in Bergen and Oslo with Geomatics Survey AS and added a new department in Østfold. Geomatics Survey AS was merged with Anko AS in November 2020.

In December 2021, Anko AS acquired 51% of the shares in Geograf Digital AS to enhance capacity in digital twins for construction, as well as ground-penetrating radar and land seismics. The industrial synergies underlying the purchase were not realized, and the collaboration ended in June 2023.

In 2022, we started the business Geo Rental AS, offering a wide range of scanners, total stations, lasers, layout equipment, and machine control equipment for rent to contractors across Norway. The Anko group manages a large amount of surveying equipment handled by Geo Rental AS, also offered to the market for short and long-term rental. Those working at Geo Rental AS have extensive and broad experience from previous work in renting technology to the construction and civil engineering industry.

Anko AS established the subsidiary Anko Poland z.o.o in Krakow, Poland, in 2022. The company is an expertise center for the delivery of digital twins, processing, modeling, and offering BIM expertise to projects. The company is also a competence center in advanced industrial measurement. The company provides services to other companies in the Anko group.

As of fall 2023, the Anko group consists of Anko AS, Anko Maritime AS, Geo Rental AS, Anko Poland z.o.o, and Anlegg & Maskinsupport AS. As of September 2023, there are a total of 125 employees in the Anko group, possessing extensive surveying experience and expertise as consulting engineers. Anko AS has offices in seven different locations in Norway; Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim, Harstad, Østfold, and Oslo. Anko thus offers nationwide services. The Anko group is expected to turnover approximately MNOK 175 in 2023 and anticipates a profit margin of 6%.

The company established a training program for employees in 2022 named "Anko School." The training program is actively used in recruitment and to further develop and strengthen the expertise environments in the Anko group.

Anko AS is ISO-certified in the 9001 Quality Management standard since 1999 and actively works with quality in daily operations. Feedback from stakeholders is actively used for continuous improvement of the quality of our services, including through the use of the QM365 quality system. The further development of the Anko School is also an important activity to ensure high quality of Anko services.
