Object Scanning

Do you need scanning of individual objects? At Anko, we can perform object scanning of smaller objects up to 3 meters.

Object scanning is useful in several situations, including monitoring and replication. Particularly in relation to replicating parts no longer available from the manufacturer, object scanning is an excellent tool that provides precise representations of the item.

Scanners for Object Scanning

At Anko, we use both a stationary ATOS scanner and a handheld scanner from Creaform. The ATOS scanner has an accuracy of down to 0.01 mm. The handheld scanner has an accuracy of 0.025 mm.

Aside from the size of the objects being scanned, there are few limitations when it comes to object scanning. Especially, there are two areas where object scanning is a clear winner:

Monitoring

With scanning performed by us, you will get exact models. If you're monitoring wear on an existing construction, scanning of the construction will give you a clear overview of the development of wear over time. An example of this could be cavitation damage on hydroelectric turbines.

Replacing Specific Parts

Previously, we've used object scanning to replace parts in critical situations. Within a few hours, the scanning can be completed, and the 3D model can be forwarded for printing. If damage is registered on the object, we can also adjust the data to create a 3D model that is free from deviations or damage.
